Our Mandate
The stated objectives of the OPWEA are as follows:
- Develop and foster distinctive brand awareness of Ontario's wood products industry on the international stage.
- Assist members in developing export readiness, identifying trade opportunities, and enhancing market awareness through seminars and other networking and educational programmes.
- Enhance communication and create opportunities between northern Ontario value-added lumber suppliers and the value-added wood manufacturers in southern Ontario.
- Support unified access to and leverage of export promotion funds and programs that support initiatives/projects that promote wood exports.
- Encourage partnering with other national and provincial organizations/associations to promote Ontario wood product exports and leverage access to existing infrastructure and information.
- Represent and promote the interests of Ontario manufacturers at the federal and provincial levels and address issues of importance to the members.
- Share best practices and business intelligence among the membership.
