Ontario’s wood products industry produces a broad range of primary and secondary forest products and is one of the most important and substantial contributors to the provincial economy, in both northern and southern Ontario. The value of Ontario exports of softwood lumber along averages $1 billion annually. The wood products industry in Ontario is more than capable of supplying high quality value-added wood products for the export market.
